Associate Professor Jim Buttery is Head of Infectious Diseases and Director of Research at Monash Children’s Hospital and Head of Monash Immunisation, Monash Medical Centre, Melbourne, Australia. He heads SAEFVIC, the Victorian immunisation safety service, a DH funded collaboration between Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Health and Melbourne Health. He is the current president of the World Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and serves as a member of the Science Board of the Brighton Collaboration, the Australian Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee and the Advisory Committee of the Safety of Vaccines. He has over 100 peer reviewed publications, and is trainer for the local under 11 footy team despite highly dubious sports medicine credentials.
