Associate Professor Danielle Skropeta is the Deputy Director of the Molecular Horizons Research Institute at the University of Wollongong (UOW) focussed on molecular visualisation and Past Director of the Pre-medical undergraduate teaching program at UOW (2015-20). A Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Associate Professor Skropeta is a research leader in medicinal chemistry and collaborates across academic disciplines including with industry and community partners. As a tertiary educator, she lectures in chemistry and pharmacology and is internationally recognised as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy UK. Her research interests include natural chemical products and glycobiology, as well as the development of new anticancer agents that target resistance and metastasis pathways. She has worked with Government Departments developing benefit-sharing models, with museums on science exhibits and with international film-makers to create a deep-sea science documentary. Associate Professor Skropeta provides expertise on the development of both natural and synthetic-based therapeutic and diagnostic agents.
